Davis Cup: Spain win doubles tie against India

Newdelhi:In Tennis, Spain have re-entered the Davis Cup Tennis World Group stage after a gap of two years. Spain beat India in the Doubles match in the Davis Cup World Group Play-off at the R.K. Khanna Stadium in New Delhi yesterday. 

Rio Olympic Doubles Gold medallist combination of Rafael Nadal and Marc Lopez defeated the Indian duo of Leander Paes and Saketh Myneni 4-6, 7-6, 6-4, 6-4. 

The win gives Spain an unassailable 3-0 lead in the World Group playoff and makes today's reverse singles rubbers a mere formality. Earlier, Spain had taken a 2-nil lead on the opening day by clinching both the Opening Singles.
